Susan is enrolled as a candidate for the Creativity Coaching Certification with the Creativity Coaching Association.

She is an artist, with a special interest in watercolor portraits, colorful abstracts, and using a combination of realistic and abstract design.  Susan minored in art in her early college years with a focus on fiber arts and weaving.  She went on to enjoy quilting, paper arts, working with clay, mixed media, acrylic painting, pen and ink, and watercolor.

In recent years, she has joined the Watercolor Society of North Carolina. Susan has attended many watercolor workshops taught by master painters such as Charles Reid, Karlyn Holman, Jeanne Carbonetti, Lian Zhen, Linda Kemp, and Suzanna Winton.  These teachers have been an inspiration and motivation for her to take new creative places and follow her heart with creativity.

Growing up with creative, artistic parents taught her to be open to the way to view color, design, and move toward her dreams of self-expression.  She has a sense of understanding the creative mind and how the artist feels intensely, having to express self in creative ways in order to find fulfillment.

Susan believes that everyone needs to tap into that creative self to achieve balance, health and healing in their lives. For most people, creativity can be a spiritual experience that can connect one's mind with the Living God of Creation using one's unique gifts of expression of self.  This in turn can lead to fulfillment of meaning for one's life as they express their authenticity and uniqueness.

Susan specializes in counseling and coaching with individuals, couples and families; serving children, adolescents, and adults.  For more information about her counseling services, please see her website for Miller Counseling Services, PC.
